Update hand writing with a blue mark on a transparent board

bvoip is moving it's core phone system version from 18.0.5.418 to 18.0.8.939. There are several system updates / changes that take effect with this version change.

Webclient Enhancements

BLF in the 3CX Web Client

  • Improved dialer functionality for WebClient and PWA
  • Focus is maintained even when Web Client or PWA is closed.
  • BLF View Added in the Dialer of the Web Client & PWA

    • From a practical point of view, this feature mimics a deskphone showing BLFs similar to a deskphone. Not only is the status of a user shown, it allows for easy, one-click transfers. If you’re an Admin you can configure BLFs for all users by going to “Admin > Users > Add / Edit User” and then the BLF tab. If you’re a User, configure your own BLFs by going to “Settings > BLF”.
SMS/MMS Messaing Enhancements

  • SMS handling of incoming Alphanumeric Sender IDs.

  • Much easier to configure SMS, it's just an extra step when you set up your SIP Trunk.
  • Any DIDs configured on the trunk are now automatically SMS enabled.
  • No need to input them again and configure routing for each one.
  • SMS routing is handled the same way voice routing is. This means that SMS is now enabled by default for all users; you no longer need to enable it per individual user/extension
  • If a Ring Group or Queue uses an SMS-enabled DID, then all extensions that are part of that Ring Group or Queue can send outbound SMS
  • If a Queue, Ring Group or extension has multiple DIDs configured, from the same or different trunk, then the user can choose which DID to use
  • SMS Messaging against IVR's - Enable the “Forward SMS” option to route SMS to a different destination like extensions, Ring Groups or Queues.

Forward SMS in Digital Receptionist Options

Security Enhancements
  • All web passwords are hashed in the system
  • Removal of Password, Config File, QR Codes from Welcome Email

    • Previously, the Welcome Email had the Web Client password - and as mentioned, the config file for the old style configuration of the app. Along with the config file, the Web Client password has also been removed from the Welcome email.
  • We’ve updated the Welcome Emails to support "Set/Reset Password". If you’re using a custom email template, then you need to adjust it to include the new e-mail variable.
  • We’ve removed the option to "Resend Credentials" from the Web Client Settings. You can now select "Forgot Password" from the login screen.
  • Added QR Codes and Configuration File to provision Android and iOS Mobile Apps: When users login to the Web Client on a mobile device, they can now download the config file from the Apps page.
  • Added Desktop App Configuration File to Webclient Apps Page also.
  • Included new iOS Certificate for Push
  • Updated: License Activation Certificate
  • Automatic Creation of  System Admin / System Owner Extension
