We just wrapped up @ DattoCon 2016 in Nashville. This was Datto's 4th Partner conference and a very successful event.

We did hold an event for BVoIP partners and friends on Monday night. Thanks to all of you who came out for a few drinks and conversation. We hope you had fun! We definately did.
Why Datto?
For those of you who may not know Datto, we utalize Datto here @ BVoIP for our warm spare redudancy plan in the event of a production server going down for any reason we can take a warm image of that server and restore service in mere minutes. Datto is a channel only comany just like BVoIP meaning they will only work through partners and not sell direct. In most of the annual lists of top IT and MSP firms, Datto is the dominat player for Backup and Disaster Recovery that the top firms around the world seem to use.

Key Takeaways from DattoCon:
- Ransomeware is becoming a very expensive problem and growing rapidly. It is something that has to be fought on many levels and when it hits can cost staggering amounts of money to get files back. We have seen recent news were anyone can get hit from this even hospital emergency rooms.
- The IT / MSP channel is getting smarter. The top Datto partners are growing at an impressive rate which is clearly defining a line in the sand between VAR's and IT/MSP firms.
- Many comapnies do not understand the true cost of downtime. IT firms who can provide a real picture and quantify this figure are really seperating themselves from the pack.
- Just because you sign up for services and call yourself an MSP doesn't mean you can execute. Operational maturity is important to suceeding. That also means saying NO if the oppurtunity or customer just does not fit.

Awesome Keynote from Woz
The keynote speaker of the event was none other that Apple Co-Found Steve Wozniak, For those of you who didn't make DattoCon or maybe want to reminise here is a recording of that session. (make sure to watch all the way until the end where our CEO George Bardissi was able to sneak the last question of the day in).
Wrap Up Party
Go big or go home right? Datto definately went big so much so that there was even a hot air baloon! Here a few photos for the march to downtown Nashville for the Datto Elements Party.
