Our dev and infrastructure teams have been hard at work behind the scenes and some new things are in the pipeline that should be visible to BVoIP partners soon.
Infrastructure Deployment to Open Stack on Rackspace
We have been hinting about the challenges with running Hosted VoIP and Cloud UC in a rather crowded and oversubscribed
Public Cloud for some time now. BVoIP has been running on bare metal within Rackspace's Global Network and now after a lot of heavy lifting have built a "lab" environment with our own Private Cloud Deployment of OpenStack within Rackspace's industry leading infrastructure. The great part of this strategy is still the reality that we have full control over the environment end-to-end with not sharing of resources with others making this a prime voice only network strategy rather than trying to jam data and voice into the same space on top of oversubscribed resources.
Soon we will call for BVoIP Pilot Testers to help us kick the tires on the Cloud PBX environment on that new layer.
Some things we gain from this story:
- Greater Redundancy with auto fail over
- Automation around deployments which makes them go faster!
- The ability to separate maintenance tasks out per account which gives you greater control
- And more items that we will highlight at a later time
Massive Enhancements to our Unified Management Platform
We have been working on some cool projects and thanks to those BVoIP partners who are actively testing those with us. Here are some things soon to be generally available in our Unified Management Platform
- General Availability of our "Lan Connector App" called Unite. In this app you will have mass device control for reboots, repovisioning, factory resetting, and remote phone UI access.
- UI enhancements so that you can group, drop and drag, and perform mass actions across one or all customers.
- Merging of the device provisioning along with phone scan in and assignment into a single place instead of jumping around.
BVoIP partners will get more regular updates on these projects however stay tuned to our blog for more info as it becomes generally available.
